Brief Biography

An Integrated marketing and communications professional, has more then

35 years in advertising, branding and marketing communications industry

experience. A Malaysian by Nationality born in 1960, Jakarta, grew up in

Europe and several countries in Asia. In 1979, halfway through Art College,

he decided to step out into the real world starting from rock bottom and

worked his way up until what he is today.

Yanni as he is commonly known, has handled many blue chip accounts from

multi-national FMCGs, Personal Care, Consumer Durables, Airlines, Financial

& Banking, Insurance, Automotive, Corporate Clients, Property &

Development, Hospitality & Tourism, Pharmaceutical, Telecommunications,

Oil & Gas and many more. In 1994, he was seconded to Bates Indonesia.

After completing his contract, he decided to remain in Indonesia wanting to

learn and experience more from this vast multi cultured market of endless

potential for creativity.

His passion lies in creative communications and innovative marketing ideas

applying creativity not only in the true sense of the word, but also in all the

other aspects of marketing, selling and brand awareness.

Some of his achievements include local and international award shows,

being assigned as juries Citra Pariwara 2003 and The New York Festival

2004 and other recognitions throughout his career. As a foreigner in

Indonesia, he was also the co-founder and made the first President of

Creative Circle Indonesia.

Zafrul Yanni Sjahrial is the Founder and CEO of BrandQuest Asia, a creative

based establishment that drives his passion for creative excellence for the

region and Indonesia. BQA creates and develops strategies and ideas for

up and coming or striving brands in the region and help them to be ‘Brand

Champions’.

Being sensitive to the domestic and international needs and trends, self

initiated events and projects will be developed for the local potential market

to produced, executed and implemented.

industries along with its infrastructures. Currently this is at a voluntary basis

until projects kicks off.
